What are PACs?

Proanthocyanidins, polysaccharides from the American cranberry, are responsible for its efficacy against urinary tract infections. Their mechanism of action is related to inhibiting the adherence of Escherichia coli bacteria, which cause 80% of infections, to the cells of the urinary tract epithelium.
